Updating the firmware (embedded software) of a 6270A pressure controller is very easy and only requires a USB cable, a computer with a USB port and the firmware files.
The current main version is 1.11 and was released June 2022. The name of the download file is 6270A vNNN USB.zip (where NNN is the firmware version number)
The current PCM version is 1.04 and was released January 28, 2019. The name of the download file is 6270 PCM vNNN USB.zip (where NNN is the firmware version number)
Until the below web pages are updated, v1.11 of the main firmware is attached to this article and can be downloaded at the link at the end of this article.

Which features are new, ist's hard to find out in the manual? Will there be a future release, where e.g. the leakage test can be started via command?

Leak Check is in the Tasks screen on the 6270A, and these are nested and/or multi-step functions. Because of that, there are not remote commands to support these. See this article for the logic of a leak test, and a COMPASS for Pressure Test Macro written in VB Script that performs a leak test with a 6270A.

Kyle/Johnny-are you recommending that everyone update their firmware at this time?
I do recommend updating to version Main v1.05 if you don't already have that. The only improvements in Main v1.06 are to some emulation commands, and the ability to use the new PM500 modules.
However, there appears to be a bug in Main v1.06 where the CPS (Contamination Prevention System) doesn't work - so I would not upgrade to that unless there is a compelling reason to do so, and you don't have a CPS.
